Some doors have stories. Heritage Doors is a curated collection of character doors recorded in historical homes.
At the heart of the collection are 13 antique doors from Parkwood Estate, a National Historic Site built in 1917. It was the home of R.S. McLaughlin, founder of General Motors of Canada.
Inside you’ll find doors from across every floor of the mansion, many including signature skeleton key locks, a necessity for the project they were recorded for.
In addition, there are doors from an 1800’s farm house, an 1881 Victorian mansion and a classic NYC brownstone in Harlem. Each with their own unique characters, including a window with a pulley system so period it became a secret door in a major horror production.
This is a working sound designer’s personal toolbox. Every recording earned its place.
Includes: mansion doors, open’s, closes, handle grabs and movements, rattles, creaks, locks, latches, skeleton key movements, brownstone window, century homes
Recorded by: J.R. Fountain — award-winning sound designer with credits on 120+ films and series.
